Le Poteau Accommodation

Domaine "Le Poteau" is situated nearby the village of Castelnau d'Auzan in the Gers. This part of southwest France is known as the Armagnac region, land of d'Artagnan in the very heart of Gascogne.
In the village you will find a bakers, grocery, pharmacy, doctor, dentist, post office and a hairdressing salon. On Tuesday morning there is a small vegetable market on the rural square. For cash dispensers you can visit Eauze, Montréal or Barbotan les Thermes.
Within walking distance of Domaine "Le Poteau" you will find a fishpond, swimming pool, tennis courts, playground and a restaurant. Two splendid footpaths, straight through the vineyards and surrounding area, have been marked. On the camp-site we play "Quille", this is a kind of bowling or playing skittles, instead of throwing a ball we use a stick! On 10 km distance is one of France most beautiful golf courses (Golf the Guinlet) with 18 holes; and if you are a guest here then you are given a discount. Nearby there are relaxing horseback rides in the beautiful countryside too. We hope you enjoy your stay.

Situated in the beautiful rural landscape of the Gers this comfortable stone built accommodation nestles in an isolated natural beauty spot and enjoys pleasant views of the nearby village of Castelnau d Auzan and surrounding landscape. The accommodation was newly built in 2004 and sleeps 4-6 people; it comes with a roomy bedroom on the lower floor, and a shower and toilet. On the upper floor a further 2-4 beds, a fully equipped kitchen complete with television and cd player and separate sitting area. There is a fully covered terrace with garden furniture and sun beds so can unwind, relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

A comfortable and luxurious stone built bungalow, with a roomy sitting area and a fully equipped kitchen and dining area. The sitting area has a comfortable 2-person sofa bed. There is a separate bedroom, toilet and shower. Outside there is a large fully covered corner terrace, with garden furniture and sun beds, so you can relax and take in the view.

For lovers of peace and wildlife this characteristic and authentic “Maison en Pierre”, is 200 years old and surrounded by land of 6000m2, where you are the only guest, with a romantic rose garden and fruit trees. The accommodation was recently renovated and equipped with every comfort. The location of the property is near Ste Maure de Peyriac, where there is a wonderful restaurant to eat. There is a swimming pool in the garden for you to cool down and survey the fantastic view, all to yourselves. If you require a larger place to swim, then 5 minutes away is a lake at Montreal du Gers and 10km away is the most beautiful golf course.

Situated 4 kilometres from the popular market town of Nogaro in the beautiful rural village of Sainte Christie d Armagnac, “La Petite Grenouille” is a charming traditional colombage house set on the south side of the village. This typical 200-year-old French home has been restored keeping all its character and charm and nestles amongst the heart of the Gers countryside.
For those who love wildlife this accommodation would be ideal, rare swallowtail butterflies inhabit the old mound where once stood one of the oldest wooden castles in France. Bats and fireflies hover over the church spire and owls nest in the nearby woods together with red squirrels. If you enjoy walking there are many footpaths to explore including the Santiago de Compostela route, which passes the house.
The Accommodation comprises of 1 double bedroom and 2 singles, there are no en-suite bathrooms but a separate toilet and bathroom. Please note; the occupants must provide their own bedding and towels.
The main room in the house is used as the kitchen and living room and has a gorgeous open fireplace to while away the nights sitting in front of. The owners of this property enjoy the piece and quiet of the area and so there is no television but lots of music, books and of course the local wine. The nearby towns are Manciet, Eauze and Nogaro where there are lots to see and do including gliding, motor racing, sporting lakes, swimming as well as the nearby golf courses. As you would expect in this part of France there are an abundant supply of vineyards to explore many of which are on the doorstep to “La Petite Grenouille”.
If you enjoy history, architecture and the countryside combined with a wonderful microclimate then I am sure you will love this part of France.
